The country you have selected has additional rules and regulations regarding being a healthcare professional. Please look at the general definition, plus the country specific addendum below and confirm your status. The definition of HCP is the General Definition plus the Country Specific Add-On .
General Definition: Any natural person that is a member of the medical, dental, pharmacy, or nursing professions or any other person who, in the course of his or her professional activities, may prescribe, purchase, supply, recommend, or administer a medicinal product or provide healthcare services and his/her office staff, and any payer for Pharmaceutical Products, including any national and local reimbursement authority or any other person considered as a healthcare professional under Applicable Laws and Codes.
Bulgaria: If you are a government official in addition to being an HCP as defined above, you legally cannot receive a free ticket.
Czech Republic: In addition to the criteria above, if you prescribe medical devices you qualify as an HCP.
Denmark: In addition to the criteria above, if you are any of the following: doctor, dentist, veterinarian, pharmacist, nurse, veterinary nurse, pharmaconomists, midwife, bioanalyst, clinical dietitians, social and health workers, or a student of these professions.
Finland: In addition to the criteria above, if you are any of the following: veterinarians, opticians, dental hygienists; but nurses in general not.
Germany: In addition to the criteria above Medical Students are considered an "HCP" after finalizing the part of their medical education and being a so-called „Arzt in Weiterbildung“.
Norway: In addition to the criteria above, if you are any of the following or a student within these professions: Ambulance staff, Pharmacy technician, Audiologist, Bioengineer, Occupational therapist, Health professionals (not doctor), Podiatrist, Physical therapist, Health secretary, Auxiliary nurse, Midwife, Chiropractor, Clinical Nutrition Physiologist, Doctor, Care worker, Optician, Orthopedic engineer, Orthoptist, Perfusionist, Psychologist, Radiograph , Nurse (3 Year education), Dental health secretary, Dentist, Dental hygienist, Dental technician, Nurse (1 Year education), Provisional pharmacist, Prescription pharmacist.
Slovakia: In addition to the criteria above , according local law a healthcare professional is prohibited from participating in a non-professional event funded, sponsored or otherwise directly or indirectly financially or materially supported by the pharmaceutical company or a third party under an agreement concluded by the pharmaceutical company
Sweden: In addition to the criteria above, HCP would be physician, dentist, pharmacist or other personnel within Swedish healthcare or distribution of medicinal products, and licensed nurses too.
Switzerland: In addition to the criteria above, physicians, dentists and pharmacists who are working in particular in a practice or hospital together with pharmacists and druggists active in retail businesses and persons who are authorized by the Swiss law on therapeutic products to prescribe, deliver, use or purchase medicinal products for humans. This definition also includes official representatives and persons with a public-law employment contract or mandate if they perform or are authorized to perform such activities.
